Resilience Round Table
Meeting Resources

20th September 2024
9.30am -10.30am

Hi Doug here!
This is a quick follow-up on our Resilience Round Table discussion on Friday 20th September at 9.30am.
We were talking about conflict being your secret weapon when it comes to the meetings that happen in your firm, particularly when it comes to leadership meetings.
Thank you for all your contributions. We kicked off by discussing the leadership principles of Amazon and the language and words they include - backbone, disagree, commit, conviction and tenacious.
This led to a conversation which covered a variety of angles on this subject including:
1.why leadership teams don't disagree more and why this holds teams back
2.the Lencioni triangle model
3.what happens when leadership teams don't seek the opinion and buy-in of everyone in the room?
4.mastering the art of respectful disagreement?
5.how you can improve your skills when it comes to listening?
6.the merits of the prima donnas at Manchester United even feature...

As Eugene Kelly, former chairman and CEO of KPMG said "Too often commitment is measured by how many hours you are willing to work. But commitment is best measured not by the time one is willing to give up, but by the energy one wants to put in"

Below you'll find the recording, the miro slides and some other resources that we referenced during the session.

If there's anything else that you'd like to see as a resource for this discussion just drop sally@remarkablepractice.com a line and she will add it to this page.

Wishing you every success!

Have you ever wondered why your people aren’t more collaborative?

Do you work with any ‘jobsworths’ who do their job, but nothing more?

Have you ever been concerned by your team’s lack of ideas, creativity and innovation?
