the power of kindness in the workplace
Resilience Round Table
Meeting Resources
7th February 2025
9.30am -10.30am

Hi Paul and Doug here!
This is a quick follow-up on our Resilience Round Table discussion on Friday 7th February 2025 at 9.30am.
We were talking about the importance of kindness in the workplace.
Everyone's contributions were great, really valuable and very much appreciated. We kicked off the sessions by asking the question:
What is the difference between Nice and Kind? This led to a wide-ranging conversation and some excellent insights including:
- Nice having a short-term impact and at times being just superficial words
- Kindness having depth and creating a long-term impact and being about 'body and soul' and the actions you take.
- Kindness not being weakness
- What kindness in the workplace looks like
- Why it is important to display kindness in the workplace
- How kindness is the cornerstone of your working culture
- How kindness makes you feel
- How much does kindness show up in your firm?
- And finally, what can you do differently?
We have lots of resources from this Resilience Round Table recording, which you'll see below. If you would like to add any additional material, books, articles, etc, to the resources page, please let us know.
We want it to be as useful as possible to you and everyone in the Remarkable Practice community. If you think anything is missing, shout up, and we'll add it in.
And if you weren't able to join us this time, please don't despair! We will return on Friday 25th of April 2025, and will send a calendar invite nearer the time.
Wishing you every success
Doug and Paul

REPORT & SUPPORTING TOOLS
Secure the success of your accountancy firm - take your client experience seriously...
The experience your clients have of your firm and your products is in your hands. You can decide what and how every aspect of your firm impacts on your client.
Don’t leave this experience to chance, don’t assume it’s going ‘OK’. Instead plan it out and deliver on it well.
REPORT & SUPPORTING TOOLS
Dissolve your business stress – build the enthusiasm in your people and your team...
As a leader, you determine your team’s level of enthusiasm.
And without enthusiasm for the work they do, your people will be a major source of stress and strain. Stress and strain that can be prevented.
REPORT & SUPPORTING TOOLS
Simply satisfying your clients prevents your accountancy firm from reaching its full potential…
Instead of aiming for ‘satisfied clients’, aim to create ‘loyal clients’ who buy from you repeatedly and actively promote your firm to others too. Loyal clients stay, pay and say!
REPORT & SUPPORTING TOOLS
The long-term success of your accountancy firm comes from a healthy workplace culture...
The short and long-term prosperity of your firm depends on the health of your workplace culture. The health of your workplace culture depends on the standards of behaviour, beliefs and values you, your people and your firm live by.
REPORT & SUPPORTING TOOLS
How do you build a healthy working culture in your accountancy firm that profoundly improves your profits, value and growth?
Take responsibility for creating a healthy working culture by building social capital and trust throughout your firm, every day and every week. Invest in and influence all the small, everyday moments of human interaction and connectedness and you create strong business mortar.
